Residential Indoor Air Quality Concerns

Dust, Pollen, Tobacco Smoke, Animal Dander, V.O.C.s, (volatile organic compounds), Carbon Monoxide, Ozone, Radon, Formaldehyde, Mould., Mildew ... most of these health effecting substances can, and will be, present in most occupied space, and can be the triggers for various respiratory reactions. These particles are very small, and can by-pass the bodies defense systems, and be drawn into the lungs, causing immediate reactions, or worst, long term health problems.

Solution

By installing the ESSA whole house polarized media filtrations system into the ducted heating/cooling system, which is presently being done in more than 10,000 homes annually, these harmful contaminants can be controlled. Add to this our latest, whole house Mould, Mildew and Bacteria control, "SafeTair" a totally natural product, which is non-toxic, non-flammable and bio-degradable. We are also proud to offer a complete line of self-contained units, some of which combine the benefits of SafeTair, to our clients who may not have a forced air, central system, or would like to "SafeTduct" a given area, such as a smoking area, or a child's bedroom.

Commercial Indoor Air Quality Concerns

The problems encountered in commercial facilities can not be compared or addressed in the same manner as the residential sector. The reasons are quite apparent, the physical dimensions of commercial properties, the number of occupants, and the size, and diversity of the mechanical systems all contribute to the "chemical soup" that can form "in-viroment". Most commercial buildings have as part of their mechanical systems, some form of "make up air". This is outside air brought into the building to replace exhausted air. A.S.H.R.A.E. has established that the out-door air is 10 to 100 times better than the indoor air, depending on the location of the building being tested and the time of day, which changes traffic patterns and the like. With this information on record, the engineering staff at ESSA took a completely different approach to solving the mounting problems of I.A.Q. conditions in occupied commercial space. The first innovative idea, was to forget the constant reference to single pass efficiency, which is basically the filtration of the incoming air. Which has been proven to far excel the quality of the recirculated air, and concentrate all efforts to up-grade the actual air that people breathe and conduct their daily activities in. To do this successfully " The Complete Treat System" was developed, this system incorporates, Filtration, Automatic Alarm Systems, Biological Contamination Control, and the control of mould and mildew growth, both in the ducting, and in the heat/cool colis, and condensate trays. Each system must be designed individually for the specific building it is to protect.

Hospitality Venues Air Quality Concerns

Restaurants, Bars, Bingo Halls, Dance Halls, Casinos, Race Tracks, Meeting Rooms and Convention Centers to name a few. The secret to this industry is to allow "Co-Habitation" between smoking and non-smoking guests. While smoking has become a very debatable issue, there are far more contaminates in the air detrimental to human health that are rarely discussed with the intensity of second hand tobacco smoke. They include Ozone, an incredibly powerful oxidizer, which is actually produced by many of today's filtration systems, with some, by design, with others as a very dangerous and unwanted bi-product. The Legionella virus, prolific anywhere on earth where a combination of the right temperature and moisture form it's host, Radon, a naturally occurring toxic gas, emanating from earth itself, and very dangerous to humans who are exposed in an ongoing situation. Tobacco smoke is very small, 0.2 of a micron, the ESSA filter is very well proven to remove this offender, either through a central system retrofit, or with our point of use self-contained removal systems, or a combination of both.
